The Impact of Precautionary Measures of COVID-19 on Egyptian Women Eating Habits

Abstract

This study aims to recognize the impact of precautionary measures of COVID-19 on the eating habits in Damietta’s women. While I was implementing a study about eating habits for women In November 2019, It was announced on February 14, the first case of COVID-19 in Egypt. Though, staying at home can cause Disturbance of well-being, and the daily activities. So I added an electronic questionnaire in June 2020, The study sample consisted of 591 women answered a questionnaire before and after the prevalence of the (Covid-19) virus in Egypt (300 women were Pre-test and 291women were Post-test). Data were taken from the individuals of the sample, preliminary data included name- age- educational level- occupational level- Salary - Expenditure on food compared to income, in addition to applying test to measure eating habits, in November 2019 (pre-test) in June 2020 (post-test. Women were divided according to the education's degree to six groups. regard to the results, Most of the women, whether in pre-test or post-test, their monthly income ranges between 1200-3000 pounds (57% and 57.73%) respectively. Furthermore, most of the women, whether in pre-test or post-test, average of spending in food between 25%to 50% from the salary (64.33% and 68.38%) respectively. Regarding to, eating habits most of the women in all groups had poor eating habits (79% and 80.41%) Pre-test and Post-test respectively.
This manuscript recommended that, more studies should be conducted in the event of the continued presence of (Covid-19) and the precautionary measures
