EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE AND ITS RELASTION TO THE EXPENDITURE BEHAVIOR AMONG A SAMPLE OF UNIVERSITY STUDENTS

Abstract

The current research aims at studying the Emotional Intelligence of the university students and its relationship to expenditure behavior. The research was applied on a sample of (406) male and female students at Benha University, and from different economic and social levels. The research followed the “Analytic Descriptive Approach”. The most important results came as follows:
- There was a positive correlative relationship that is statistically significant between the emotional intelligence of the university students in its five dimensions, and the expenditure behavior in its three axes.
- There were statistically significant differences between the university students sample of the research in emotional intelligence according to gender in favor of male
- There were statistically significant differences between the university students sample of the research in emotional intelligence according to academic specialization in favor of practical specialization.
- There were statistically significant differences between the university students sample of the research in expenditure behavior according to gender in favor of female.
- There was a statistically significant difference between the university students sample of the research in emotional intelligence according to (father’s and mother’s educational levels – the monthly income of the family- nature of personal expense).
- There was a statistically significant difference between the university students sample of the research in expenditure behavior according to (father’s and mother’s educational levels – the monthly income of the family- nature of personal expense).
