The aesthetics of Al-Asiri wall art (Al-Qat) as an entry point for the enrichment of fashion supplement design

Abstract

Wall painting is one of the oldest forms of human expression known to man, and the Asir region is considered one of the regions of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which is rich in popular artistic wall art inscriptions known as (cat art) and varied between geometric shapes and plant decoration, and the field of designing clothing supplements is one of the rich fields that It contains innovation and diversity between each piece, and the development in the world of supplements has accompanied the change in the types of clothes; Whereas, the type of supplement and the method of its use is the brainchild of the designer of clothes, and it is considered a requirement of elegance, so it was necessary to diversify its decoration and invent new solutions for its production.
Therefore, the research aimed to take advantage of the aesthetics of the elements of Asiri wall art (the cat) to create design collections for contemporary fashion supplements that preserve the originality of the past through experimentation with computer drawing programs, and the research followed the descriptive analytical approach by analyzing the elements of Al-Qatt Al-Asiri art, along with the experimental method Conducting many design experiments to create collections for contemporary fashion supplements, and the results resulted in the richness of the Al Asiri cat motifs with many inspiring artistic and aesthetic values, and the possibility of distributing the Al Asiri cat vocabulary on fashion supplements.
