Abstract

The study aimed mainly to study the a proposed indicative program to develop the mother`s awareness of the skill of participation and its relationship to the child in the late childhood stage, and to determine the level of the mother`s awareness of the child`s participation skill in terms of ( emotional participation – cooperative – participation in dialogue), determining the level of social development of responsibility – communication and respect for others – personal compatibility ), revealing the differences between mother`s awareness of the skill of participation and its relationship to the social development of the child according to some variables of the social economic level , studying the relationship between mothers` awareness of the skill of participation and social development for a child in late childhood. Several tools were used for the study, which included: the family and child general data form, the mother-child participation questionnaire in its three dimension, the child`s social development questionnaire in its three dimensions, a suggested indicative program to develop the mother`s awareness of the skill of participation, and the study tools were applied to a sample (295) mothers fromThe age of (9-12 years) and they were selected in a simple random way from the lists of children enrolled in the fourth, fifth and sixth grades of primary school from Sharkia Governorate from different levels. This study follows the descriptive analytical approach, and the data has been statistically analyzed using the SPSS program. The most important results of the research resulted in:  The are no statistically significant difference between the mother`s awareness of the skill of participation in its dimensions and the mother`s awareness of the skill of participation as a whole, depending on the variable of the child`s gender , place of residence and work. There are statisticians differences between the level of social development of the child with its dimensions depending on the gender variable in favor of the female , and there is a statistically significant difference between the mother`s awareness of the skill of participation in its dimensions and as a whole according to the educational  level of the mother , and the presence of a direct statistically significant relationship between the dimensions of mother`s awareness of the skill participation ( emotional participation, cooperation participation, participation in dialogue ) and the dimensions of social development of the child ( cooperation and a sense of responsibility , communication and respect for others ,personal adjustment ), as well as the existence of a direct statistically significant  relationship between the mother`s awareness of the skill of participation " as a whole" and the social development of the child " as a whole" . The study recommends activating the role of institutions society which represented in cultural palaces, motherhood and childhood centers, family guidance and counseling offices, family planning centers, and holding training courses to educate the mother about the importance of her role in developing, instilling the spirit, habit of participation and responsibility for the child at this stage prepared for that.
