A critical Study of the Effectiveness of E-Learning in Comprehension of Students of Music Colleges of the Western Solfege Items

Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the effectiveness of e-learning in the students of music colleges assimilation of the items of Western Solfege to take advantage of Internet applications and how to employ them in the educational process .
Therefore, the researcher used the Teams program during the period of the Corona epidemic (Covid 19) to make a critical study on the effectiveness of the e-learning application for teaching the Western Solfege course through this program .
The researcher conducted an exploratory study on a random group of third-year students in the Department of Music Education, Faculty of Specific Education, Benha University, in the academic year 2020/2021, And she implemented eight sessions through Teams technology, and at the end of the sessions, she distributed a questionnaire form for the students to reach the extent to which they benefited from the sessions that were applied .
The results of the questionnaire reached the possibility of using this technique in teaching the rhythmic and solfege readability. As for the melodic Solfege and listening training, there is a difficulty in teaching them without providing the capabilities that help to deliver them well .
The researcher recommended paying attention to preparing rooms for teaching Western Solfege in a way that helps students understand its items during E-learning, especially melodic and Ear_training .
