Epidemics and Diseases (Corona Virus) as An Introduction to Artistic Expression in Modern and Contemporary Painting

       Art is one of the important forms of expression used by man throughout the ages, as art was and still is a parallel language used by the artist to express his thoughts and emotions.Ages have passed by expressing the topic of diseases and epidemics, given the strong impact of this phenomenon  on various aspects of human life.
       The expression of epidemics and diseases since ancient times is one of the sources of inspiration, as it is a mixture of historical events, people’s issues, and artists’ creations, and art in this way is the necessary tool to complete the interaction between the artist and society, and one of its qualities is that it carries in its depths tension and contradiction, as it comes from a strong suffering of reality.
      Today, and the whole world is witnessing the pandemic of the Corona virus "Covid-19", which may develop to be the worst in human history, the current scene has taken over artworks and visual arts, and the spread of the virus has inspired many artists to produce paintings, posters and artworks in this period.
     Through the study and analysis of some of the works of artists who dealt in their artworks on the subject of epidemics and diseases in modern and contemporary art, the researcher saw that there are various and different methods of expression, which called the researcher to study these methods and try to benefit from them in artistic production, and to express the new Corona virus, which is considered One of the most important epidemics in our modern era, which swept all over the world and was affected by the great and the small, here the researcher must study how this epidemic affected the plastic artists and what methods of expression used by artists to express that pandemic.
The objectives of the research come in the following points:
1- A study and analysis of the artistic methods that dealt with the expression of the topic of epidemics in contemporary photography
2- Revealing the artistic and aesthetic values ​​in the works that tackled the creative expression of the topic of epidemics.
3- Production of paintings that express the emerging corona virus by taking advantage of the different methods of artists in the current study.
