Abstract

Nowadays, modern types of stretchy fabrics, which contain Lycra fibers, have appeared. The development of this type of fabric has made a tangible impact on fashion.
Lycra fibers not only mix well with natural and synthetic yarns ,but also they are more easier used with various types of fabrics, whether woven or non-woven, and their ratio ranges between (1 to 10%) in These fabrics.
For this reason, it becomes necessarily not only to find  types of one-size-fits-all clothes but also to develop embroidery methods used on such materials .
The used material is the  most important element in the artwork, therefore this research aims to find the appropriateness of using some hand embroidery stitches (branch- chain- knot- saddlebag) on different weights lycra fabrics notice that ,these embroidery stitches could be made from different types of  materials(cotton threads- silk threads- metal threads).
The researcher worked on (36) samples of hand embroidery with the stitches specified in the research, and the research tool was an evaluation form for the suitability of the selected stitches with the threads used on the materials in question.
The results proved the existence of statistically significant differences between the effect of the appropriateness of different embroidery stitches on the final shape of the fabric in favor of the knot stitch, then the chain, then the saddle, and then the branch.
Moreover, The final results showed the magnificent over all look for using  silk thread on lycra fabrics .
The research sample consisted of (25) items distributed among specialists and consumers. This research may benefit the clothing producers in improving the quality of embroidery on evening wear made by manual methods.
