Innovating Colored Sculpture Works Utilizing Digital Printing Techniques in Direct Formation

Modern technology has contributed to the development of manual and mechanical performance techniques,  materials and skills, giving the plastic arts more space than was used in the past. It has opened a wide field of experimentation and  become a reliable basis for an artist to support his/ her innovative and creative skills and to produce works of art of a special and non-traditional character; derived from the tremendous and continuous technological development. The use of color in contemporary sculpture is one significant areas of these, touching the  interest in the ancient and primitive arts in the attracting attention of artists since the beginning of the twentieth century and the importance of restoring the color influential role in sculptural works;  specifically the relationship of color to the elements of sculptural formation in terms of mass, surfaces, space, texture. The current research highlighted the role of color and its importance as an artistic necessity in sculptural forms. Colored sculpture and its connection with intellectual and technological factors have allowed the emergence of other arts, including textile printing, where new formative and expressive solutions emerged to understand the philosophy of using colored sculpture and  employ new printing techniques  that can be used in the field of education. Textile Printing is one crucial field   through which  value- utilized  products can be provided. Therefore, the  current research   merging sculpture and printing to create  colorful artworks using digital techniques in direct formation. Descriptive and comparative experimental method were used for describing and experimenting some sculpture works where  digital techniques  that combine sculpture and printing are utilized. Results of the current research reveal that:
1- Digital printing technology allows sculptor to innovate artwork.

Digital printing has an effective role in solving problems for complex designs that are difficult to implement

3- Results of modern technological methods and techniques in the sculpture formation are amazing.
