Abstract

The research aimed mainly at studying the Awareness, Practices and Housing Characteristics Related to Availability of Vitamin D Sources and Their Effect on Health and Body Indicators Among Housewives in Alexandria City.

The most important research results related to the evaluation of awareness and residential practices of the study subjects regarding vitamin D, they were average among 58.5% and 82.3%, respectively, and that 69.2% of the study subjects had an average level of health status related to vitamin D.
The research results also showed a significant effect at the probability level of 0.01 for the level of external and internal residential characteristics, the awareness of the study subjects about vitamin D, and their residential practices related to vitamin D on the health status of the study subjects related to vitamin D, at a rate of 26.5%.
The results related to the case study also showed the existence of a positive significant correlation at the probability level of 0.01 between the health status of the subjects of the study and both awareness and residential practices, and the existence of an inverse significant correlation at the probability level of 0.05 between the health status of the subjects of the study and the nutritional practices of the subjects of the study, and the existence of a correlation Inverse significance at the probability level of 0.05 between the health and physical indicators of the subjects under study and both awareness and residential practices of the subjects.
