A counseling program based on the use of smart learning and its impact on developing cyber security awareness and reducing nomophobia among students of the Faculty of Home Economics, Menoufia University
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of a proposed counseling program based on the use of smart learning in developing cyber security awareness and reducing the level of nomophobia among students of the Faculty of Home Economics at the University of Menoufia. A purposive sample of (90) students with high levels of nomophobia was selected, and they were divided into two equal groups, one the control group and the other the experimental group. The study followed the descriptive and quasi-experimental methods. The research tools consisted of designing a smart learning environment for the proposed counseling program, a cyber security awareness scale and a nomophobia scale. The results of the study showed that There were statistically significant differences at the (0.01) level between the mean scores of the experimental group in the pre- and post-measurements of the cyber security awareness and the nomophobia, with the post-measurement being in favor. There were also statistically significant differences at the (0.01) level between the scores of the experimental and control groups in the post-measurement of the cyber security awareness and the nomophobia, with the experimental group being in favor. There was an inverse relationship between cyber security awareness and nomophobia among students in the experimental sample after the program was implemented. The results also revealed that there were statistically significant differences at the (0.01) level for students in the experimental group in the level of nomophobia due to the variables of housing type, academic rating, and phone model.
