Promoting Special Events and Its Role in Supporting the Egyptian Tourism Identity

Abstract

This study aims to monitor methods of promoting special events organized and sponsored by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism And antiquities, to find out the dimensions of Egyptian tourism identity that have been focused on through Publications related to events, this study belongs to qualitative studies and used The case study method. And applied on the official page of the Egyptian Authority for Tourism promotion on Facebook.The results showed a variety of fields of events that promote Egyptian tourism, including sports, Archaeological, artistic, entertainments events. Usage of famous actors and singers, foreign singing bands, and entertaining performances, art and competitions came as the most prominent means of promotion. The dimensions of Egyptian tourism's identity emerged through publications, like visual, cultural, architectural, and social identities. All dimensions of the richness of the medium were found through Multiple Cues, Language variety, Personalization, Immediately Feedback.
