Aesthetic values of folklore in the Qassim region in Saudi Arabia and benefiting from them in enriching the field of metal art

Abstract

Folklore is one of the arts sources that express the cultural, intellectual and cultural depth of different peoples, which distinguishes one people from another, and it appears through the various heritage arts of architecture, plastic arts and craft industries. The various heritage arts, the most important of which are traditional architecture, handicrafts, folk costumes, folk products and tools that are used in daily life since ancient times and until now, due to its agricultural nature in the middle of the Hira of the Arabian Peninsula, and therefore the researcher saw that through a study The aesthetic values of the folklore elements in the Qassim region can benefit from enriching the field of metalworking. The researcher carried out the practical application with the students of the College of Designs and Home Economics at Qassim University. The researcher concluded that by studying the aesthetic values ​​and distinctive features of the popular heritage of the Qassim region in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and drawing inspiration from them, it is possible to enrich the field of metalwork through designing and implementing contemporary metalwork with a heritage dimension. One of the most important recommendations of the researcher was the necessity of including the study of local heritage in the curricula of art colleges according to the different communities in which those colleges are located.
