Abstract

This research aims to investigate the impact of utilizing the artificial intelligence application "Magic School" on Enhancing teaching proficiency, academic determination, and selected 21st century skills among student teachers at the Faculty of Home Economics, Menoufia University. An experimental sample consisting of 39 students was selected for this purpose. To achieve the research objectives, a guide for using artificial intelligence applications, particularly the Magic School application, was developed. Tests measuring teaching proficiency, academic determination, and 21st century skills were administered to the experimental group as pre and posttests. The research employed both descriptive and quasi-experimental methodologies.

After statistical analysis, the results revealed statistically significant differences (0.01) between the mean scores of student teachers in the experimental group in the pre and post-applications of the teaching proficiency test (both overall and in its sub-skills), the academic determination scale (both overall and in its sub-aspects), and the 21st century skills scale (both overall and in its sub-skills), favoring the post-application. Furthermore, a statistically significant positive correlation was found between the student teachers' scores in the post-application of the teaching proficiency test, academic determination scale, and 21st century skills scale. These findings confirm the positive impact of utilizing the artificial intelligence application (Magic School) on developing teaching proficiency, academic determination, and 21st century skills among student teachers during their practical education training. The study recommended the necessity of incorporating artificial intelligence applications into the pre-service and in-service training programs for home economics teachers in order to develop their skills with the modern era.
