Abstract

This study aimed to measure the effectiveness of digital design tools in developing the skills of educational media students at the Faculty of specific education at Mansoura University, in designing the theatrical perspective with its three elements: decoration, lighting, and theatrical costumes, and the study relied on the semi-experimental curriculum to design one group with two measurements before and after, and was applied to a Purposed sample of (80) students from the second division of the Department of educational media, during (20) training sessions of two hours per week, within the practical applications of the course "art of theatrical decoration".
The results of the study showed a noticeable and statistically significant improvement (p < 0.001) in the performance of students after training using digital design tools for theatrical perspective, as the performance in theatrical decoration design increased by 22.34% through the production of visual decorative backgrounds with accurate perspective depth, and their design of theatrical lighting arts improved by 17.49% by simulating shadows and distributing lighting to different theatrical scenes, and the efficiency of theatrical costume design improved by 18.37% by experimenting with colors and materials digitally in accordance with the nature of the theatrical characters in the selected theatrical texts and the successive epochs of the theater.
The study also showed how the digital design tools DALL-E 3 and Bing Image Creator contributed to linking theoretical concepts with the practical application of the course "theatrical decoration art" through an interactive learning environment that provided students with multiple options for experimentation and design, and the results also showed that there were no statistical differences attributed to the two variables of type or previous experience, which confirms the comprehensiveness and suitability of the training program for different student groups, and the student projects judging tool for designs produced by students revealed a significant increase in the rates of pivotal "use of digital technologies" and "creativity and innovation", with strong associative relationships between the axes, highlighting the positive impact of Technology The study recommended the importance of integrating these tools into the applied courses of Performing Arts and enhancing the awareness of students and faculty members of their importance, especially the courses related to design and performance in the Departments of educational media within the colleges of specific education in Egypt.
