Using e-pharmacy applications on smartphones as a source of ‎pharmaceutical information and the satisfaction achieved- A survey study

Abstract

The study aimed to know the extent of the public’s use of e-pharmacies apps on smartphones ‎as a source of pharmaceutical information and the satisfaction they achieved in light of the uses ‎and satisfactions theory. The study belongs to descriptive studies and is based on the survey ‎method, and the questionnaire form was applied to a random sample of 400 respondents from ‎Cairo, Alexandria, Dakahlia, and Sohag. It concluded that the public uses e-pharmacies' Apps ‎on smartphones as a source of pharmaceutical information at a rate exceeding 50%. The most ‎used e-pharmacies Apps were ranked as follows: the first drug guide application in Egypt (Drug ‎eye index), Yadawi, the comprehensive medical drug guide, Shifa, Egypt pharmacies, Hatlaqi ‎Dawak, and Roshetta. The public’s motives behind using them were also mentioned as follows: ‎‎(Compares pharmaceutical preparations), (Fast in transferring information), (Develops my ‎pharmaceutical information), (Rich in pharmaceutical details), and (Easy (Use) and (Contains ‎images of the drug) and (Provides alternatives to the drug) and (provides information in ‎innovative ways) and (Enables continuous interaction) and (Provides useful drug information) ‎and (Accurately documents drug information)‎
