Abstract

Childhood is an important period of human life. Experiences, which child faces in this early age, are a corner stone of his life in which characteristics of his personality starts to be formed. Educational policies in many countries did care of this level. In Egypt, it became an important period as a starting point of educational levels that experts developed an advanced syllabus including musical experiences, while the classical form of teaching songs for children stayed as it is, which is restricted within 3 or 4 melodies only.
Considering that Development is the main character of life, so this study is looking forward developing a syllabus of educational music for this early period which is considered as a direct reflect of the developed sense of child to realize the whole world and moder­­­n life.
Modern child is a different one and has very specific taste which can’t accept any offered forms or be satisfied easily with attractive melodies, either rhythmic or melodic. The Egyptian heritage is full of such types of melodies which forced the scholar to find out a way to use these melodies to play this important role trying to develop the Arabic musical sense of children, from which came the idea of this study. The scholar used an applied experiment on a society sample which is second level of the kindergarten at Early Childhood Development Center at the educational city at 6th of October city, the number of which is 50 children. They were chosen carefully according to specific criteria of the folk melodies in different rhythms and made special lyrics for these melodies. The experiment proofed that children marvelously tasted, appreciated and reacted to these melodies more than expected. Subsequently, this experiment showed that children gained an important output of musical culture and had the ability which can’t be ignored to taste and perform folks Egyptian melodies, which must be used to raise them related to their heritage.
