Abstract
The Lute takes the forefront of Oriental musical instruments since the ancient ages , it also forms the Arab Musical Cultural Identity , the importance of Lute due to the many of used aspects , it is the machine of the Solo-Single (soloist), accompanying machine for the singer , and it is one of the main supports of the eastern band (orchestra), the Lute is the (favorite best liked) tool for the Arabic composer, because it''s easy to carrying , performing the tones and imagining the sounds, also , for its musical keys and tunes transporting (Sianat Hamdy, 1978, p. 19).
Musical Education Section at Faculty of Specific Education, teaching the curriculum of Lute as a specialized musical instrument throughout the studying years, the Section Administration obligates by the curriculum of Lute, which are teaching at the Faculty of Specific Education at Helwan University as the mother college, which we take the experience in this field from its Professors.
The researcher has been faced of many questions from some students of the fourth year about a new methods and modern skills of playing on the Lute, as (glissando) by the fourth finger (pinky), where it used by many of the players as "Ammar Elsherey", and "Nosair Shamma", and others, where this method reflects on their performance an artistic touch and aesthetic exquisite delights the ear , the researcher saw that it is necessary to follow the new methods of playing on the Lute , and selecting what is suitable for our students, specially, these new methods contain several unusual skills and technical , which contributes of raising the level of playing at graduates of Specific Faculties, that led the researcher to think about this study to keep pace with the development of ways to play the Lute instrument .
Problem of research:
Although of the variety of using the (glissando) by the fourth finger among all the professional players of the Lute instrument for doing the half tone distance, which give special ringing and luminance to the audible tones, but the players practice this skill orally without a specific
methodology , also the researchers did not search about this skill ,specially , it does not written in the records of the Lute, the researcher saw that students of the Lute instrument not exposed to study this skill throughout their studying years , where this make them losing one of the professional skills which may need it in their labor market .
We can formulate the problem of study in the following questions:
1 – How we can put technical trainings to use the fourth finger on the skill of (glissando) to make half tone distance on the Lute?
2 - How we can put suggested melody trainings, contains the skill of (glissando) to make half tone distance using the fourth finger?
3 - How we can benefiting from this skill at playing some of the known musical compositions?
Aims of research:
The research aims to determine the difficulties that facing students during playing the pieces of music which contains:
1 - Putting technical trainings to use the fourth finger on the skill of (glissando) to make half tone distance on the Lute.
2 - Putting suggested melody trainings, contains the skill of (glissando) to make half tone distance using the fourth finger.
3 – Employing and benefiting from this skill at playing some of the known musical compositions.
