An Evaluation Study for the Performance of the Deans of Faculties at Menoufia University in the Light of Malcolm Baldridg Total Quality Model

Abstract

This Research Aims At Identifying the Reality Of the Performance Of the Deans Of Faculties At Menoufia University In the Light Of Malcolm Baldridge Total Quality Model From the Faculty Members View Point To Understand the Obstacles That Prevent the Deans From In Order To Get the Mechanisms Of the Evaluation Of the Performance Here the Descriptive Approach Was Used. This Research Includes Two Themes: The First Theme Provides the Theoretical Frame Work Which Shows the Performance Of the Target Deans and Recognizing Malcolm Baldridge Total Quality Model. The Second Theme Contains the Empirical Study That Aimed at Identifying the Reality Of the Performance Of the Deans Of Faculties at Menoufia University In the Light Of Malcolm Baldridge Total Quality Model. The questionnaire was Relied Upon as a Tool and the Sample Consisted Of (230) Faculty Members Who Were Randomly Selected. This Research found out that the Performance Should Cope with the Requirement of Malcolm Baldridge Total Quality Model. Also, the Research Reveals the Lack of the Training Programs Related to the Improvement of Their Managerial Skills. Moreover, the Research Shows that the Busyness Of the Deans By the Managerial Work Keep them Away From the Academic Work and Dealing With the Businessmen, and the Shortcomings Of the Incentive System Of the Staff that Related to the Outstanding Performance at Work.
