Abstract

The study sought to monitor and analyze the treatment of Arab and foreign satellite channels on the topics of climate change, by monitoring the topics that were taken care of, the objectives of the treatment, the news frameworks that were used, the framing mechanisms, presentation methods and means of suspense, the dimensions of the theory of Social Responsibility, and the effective forces and appeals used in news processing.
This descriptive study used the survey methodology, relied on the Content Analysis tool, employed the theory of expert frameworks and the theory of Social Responsibility, and the sample of the study was represented in "Al Arabiya channel","Al Jazeera", BBC Arabic channel and France 24 channel from July 1, 2023 to September 30, 2023.
The results revealed the multiplicity of climate change topics contained in news bulletins on Arab and foreign satellite channels, foremost of which was "Hurricane Daniel and the Nakba of the Libyan city of Derna "came in first place, then" climate changes, their causes and ways to face them", then "forest fires in Hawaii", then "Morocco earthquake" and then" the future of the planet due to climate changes".
The results of the study revealed the variety of means of suspense accompanying the news of climate change, where "titles written on the screen" came first, then "artificial intelligence and augmented reality technologies", then "interventions with reporters".
