Abstract

The current research aims to reveal the effectiveness of an electronic counseling program to develop wives’ awareness of ways and methods to overcome marital alienation in light of the spread of social media. The basic research sample consisted of (300) wives, and the experimental study sample consisted of (75) wives from the same basic research sample. The research tools were applied to them, and the research used the descriptive analytical method and the experimental method. The results of the research found that there were statistically significant differences at the level of significance (0.01) in the average scores of the wives of the basic research sample on the scale of awareness of ways and methods of overcoming marital alienation in light of the spread of social media in the overall group in favor of urban wives, in favor of working wives, and the age difference. Between spouses of 10 years or more, and for the benefit of the length of marital life that was less than 10 years and for the benefit of the spouses’ high educational level and high monthly income, revealed that there were differences before and after applying the program in favor of the post-application. The two researchers recommended preparing awareness programs especially for those about to get married to train them to choose the appropriate partner from the beginning so that marital alienation does not occur later.
