Abstract

The current research aims to study the effectiveness of a guidance program via the Model platform to develop youth awareness of smart sustainable consumer behavior as a safe way out of the challenges of social media and its relationship to their perceived self-efficacy, and to reveal the differences between some economic and social variables and the level of awareness of the study sample of youth of smart sustainable consumer behavior in its dimensions and their perceived self-efficacy in its dimensions. The guidance program was planned, implemented and evaluated electronically through the Model platform, and the necessary sessions and videos were prepared to teach students smart sustainable behavior, and to measure the percentage of change that occurred in the level of response after implementing the program by comparing the results before and after implementation. The basic sample of the research consisted of (250) male and female students aged 17-19 from the first and second year students of the Faculty of Specific Education; the sample was chosen in a simple random way, and the experimental sample consisted of (65) individuals from the lower quartile of awareness of smart sustainable consumer behavior and perceived self-efficacy. The study tools were applied and the descriptive, analytical and experimental approaches were used. The results showed a statistically significant positive correlation at a significance level of 0.01 between the sample's awareness of smart sustainable consumer behavior for youth in its dimensions and their perceived self-efficacy in its dimensions.
